Differrent Types LEDs and Application

25 Oct 2019

Light Emitting Diodes or simply LEDs, are among the most widely used of all the different types of semiconductor diodes available today. LEDs are made from a very thin layer of fairly heavily doped semiconductor material, when forward biased an LED will emit a colored light at a particular spectral wavelength.

Types of LEDs
Two types of LEDs are available, a lamp type (leaded) and a chip type (surface mount). Users can select the ideal type based on set requirements.

Advantages and disadvantages of lamp type and chip type

For lamp type, what is its advantage? Its shape has undergone straight insertion and patching. With the advancement of technology, it has become logical to have multiple LED light-emitting chips, which are highly integrated and directly packaged on the substrate (circuit and heat-dissipation integrated design) to form a compact, high-power, Ultra-high power led illuminating element, this is the "COB" (seemingly the 3 chips rgb 3w led diode , actually a set of lamp beads).

For the chip type, the ratio: integrated L)) is a different name for the Cob light source on the towel field, but in fact, can not clearly describe the characteristics of the COB light source.COB refers to Chip-On-Board, which directly encapsulates a small power chip onto an aluminum substrate for rapid heat dissipation. The chip area is small, the heat dissipation efficiency is high, and the driving current is small. Therefore, it has high heat dissipation with low thermal resistance and high thermal conductivity. Compared with standard SMD RGB full color led diode features: higher brightness, low thermal resistance (<6 c w), smaller light attenuation, higher index, perfect spot, and long>

If the light is on, it means that the function of the lamp bead is unaffected. If it is not lit, exchange the red and black test leads and test again. The lamp bead lights to observe the color of the lamp bead and the color temperature meets the requirements. Is the brightness appropriate? Choose the right lamp bead according to your requirements.
